It is recommended that participants have some prior enneagram exposure and know their enneagram type. Typing interviews can be scheduled with Allison (937.545.0806) or Karen (937.974.8945) prior to the retreat.
From Allison and Karen:
“At the still point of the turning world. Neither flesh nor fleshless;
Neither from nor towards; at the still point, there the dance is...”
T. S. Elliot, Four Quartets
The story of each type is one of struggle between what seems to be and what is possible. When we are held by its passion we vacillate between identification and avoidance, trying to use our defenses to resolve the two and finding ourselves caught. But there is another way. The Higher Aspects of the Enneagram: the Holy Ideas, Virtues and Essential Qualities emerge from the still point, a place of essence, where the dance is.
In this retreat you will gain greater understanding of how defensive reactivity creates suffering and how relaxing those defenses enables the Higher Aspects of your type to manifest. At the still point, the core of our identity, it is possible to connect with these essential qualities, which both inform and transcend the personality. You will discover that somatic awareness can bring insight to your present state and allow something new to arise -- something beyond your habitual patterns of thinking, feeling and acting. You will cultivate greater compassion for yourself and others, opening from a deeper understanding of your own presence to a wider range of human experience.
